The NATIVE YOUTH MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP partnered with the United Indian Health Service, Inc in Arcata, CA and conducted a multi-day workshop from September 10th - 15th, 2018. Native youth produced digital video projects in various genres that included public service announcements. Their projects focused on issues that are effecting their community and peers as it pertains to technology. Sherman Indian High School
The 2018 NATIVE YOUTH MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP will be working with Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA. Sherman Native youth will be producing digital video projects in various genres, including short documentary, narrative short fiction and public service announcements. The 2018 NATIVE YOUTH MEDIA WEEKEND took place Nov 16th - Nov 18th, 2018 in Hollywood California. The program invited Native youth from Colorado, Utah, Washington, Northern and Southern California. UMUT Student Arts Film Institute
In 2020, we collaborated with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe's Tiwahe Initiative and Native Connections/Behavioral Health department to launch a community film program on the Towaoc reservation. The UMUT Student Arts Film Institute is a production program that launched in June of 2020 and is a permanent department on the UMUT reservation. Production tutorials were provided to Ute Mountain youth, teens and adults. July - August, production began on a new piece that reflects the tribe's battle against the pandemic.…
