The 2020 Native Youth Workshop continued through the pandemic with virtual and in-person programs expanding year round curriculum. Our 2020 partners included United American Indian Involvement and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. These workshops navigated the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic with strict safety regulations while on production.
The films produced in our summer program workshops were showcased at the 14th Annual LA SKINS FEST. The youth participated in online events during the film festival and participated in a filmmaker Q&A with other youth filmmakers.

Throughout the summer and fall, we worked with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe in Towaoc, Colorado. Several tribal youth, teens, adults and elders participated in the production of a new documentary. Check out images of the production here!
In August, we hosted an on-line film workshop for youth at United American Indian Involvement, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA. Youth met with Native filmmakers, actors and writers throughout the week. Check out some of their zoom meetings here:
In December, we wrapped our youth initiatives with the 2nd Annual Youth Animation Workshop. We partnered with United American Indian Involvement to host on-line lessons in animation.
