“As the entertainment industry continues to reshape itself, the LA SKINS FEST continues to grow opportunities for our community.” Announced Patricia Gomes, festival director. ”This year, we are expanding the festival and increasing our ability to showcase new indigenous cinema.”
The LA SKINS FEST will celebrate its films and filmmakers at the iconic Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA. The festival showcases original works that are distinguished, offers a new voice in cinema and provides a unique perspective from the indigenous community. Films accepted in the festival will be eligible for awards at the Hard Rock in Hollywood.
This year’s festival will offer a week-long series of events throughout Hollywood. The film festival will premier exciting new indigenous films, present the 13th Annual Native Media Awards Celebration, provide the 6th Annual Hollywood Pow Wow and host indigenous filmmakers from around the world.
The festival is an initiative of the Native American non-profit the Barcid Foundation and will showcase the rising talent in Native American filmmaking. This year the LA SKINS FEST is expanding the screening series to accommodate the growing talent in Indian Country.
