Uncommon Ground

Set in the Coast Salish region of the Pacific Northwest, 150 years in the future, the true history of North America has been swept under the rug, the stories of Indigenous peoples have been silenced, and religion and culture are criminalized. Indigenous people, like Tawni and her aunt, were driven out of the cities, living on the land where they fight to keep their culture and histories alive against all odds.

It has been centuries since the supernatural beings of the land from Salish culture walked amongst humans. But now, Tawni is starting to hear their voices whispering to her.

On a few fateful encounters, Tawni grapples with if the voices she is hearing and the people she is seeing are real or if she is losing her sanity.

Uncommon Ground begs the question, “What happens when the stories you grew up hearing about the land come true in front of your very eyes?”
