“Restoration of the Spirit” documentary is the story of how generations of tribal members are transcending the pain associated with the US Governments “termination act”, which dissolved the Tribes’ federally recognized status and dismantled the reservation in 1954. At the time of termination, the Klamath Tribes were the second wealthiest tribe in the nation. The effects of termination were devastating beyond measure. The Tribe regained federal recognition in 1984 and to date have failed to see any portion of their land base restored. This film honors the emotional pain of the past while embracing younger generations desire to move beyond the trauma that resulted from termination.
