Jesse Carriere is a Red River Metis from Winnipeg. He has heard about his family’s role in the North-West Rebellion in Canada. He knows that his great great great uncle Damase fought in the war and did not return home.

Jesse has felt that he needed to present him with a gift at his final resting place to bring some ease to his uncle’s spirit and himself. His final resting place was unknown to his family in Manitoba. Jesse’s goes on a spiritual journey from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Batoche, Saskatchewan.

Jesse wants to present his uncle a piece of home and to bring awareness about the struggles that were presented and are still present in today’s Metis society.
