Founded by visionary American Indian women, Babba Cooper and Marian Zucco, the film highlights UAII’s dedication to empowerment and resilience. It explores the organization’s pivotal moments, challenges, and triumphs over five decades, focusing on its fight against cultural insensitivity in healthcare. The film also highlights the history of the American Indian community in urban Los Angeles during the Relocation Act. Through its evolution, UAII’s enduring legacy and its future impact on Indigenous communities are brought to light.
