Event Navigation
We will conduct the 8th Annual Native Writers Pitch Fest during the LA SKINS FEST. The pitch fest allows Native American writers to pitch their scripts, projects and themselves to several network and studio development executives, managers, and agents.
The pitch fest will consist of three components that enhance the participant’s writing career.
The first portion of the workshop is an introduction to pitching and will have a TV showrunner discuss pitching to network executives. This portion will give insight into providing the best presentation when pitching new projects. (Invitation Only)
The second portion of the workshop is the script pitching session. This portion consists of the participants pitching scripts to creative executives, literary representation and industry consultants. This year’s participants will include executives from BAD ROBOT, ABC, Powderkeg, Westward Productions and more. (Invitation Only)
At 7pm, the third portion is an Original Content Panel that is open to the public. Creative executives will offer additional information to the pitching segment including follow up, next steps and growing your writing career in television. Please make reservations at [email protected] with the email header: Native American Original Content Panel and provide full name of interested individuals.
Following the panel, we conduct a staged reading of TV pilots and feature scripts from the 2019 Native American Writers labs. The stage reading will be followed by a food and drink reception that will allow further discussion of script work and visiting with guests.
The NATIVE AMERICAN WRITERS PITCH FEST is an intensive writing workshop that prepares Native American writers for television and film writing careers.
