Maddox Pennington

Maddox Pennington is a nonbinary writer, playwright, stand-up comic, lecturer at USC, and citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, their work explores gender, sexuality, mental health, and belonging, and frequently invokes magical realism. Their debut bibliomemoir, A Girl Walks Into a Book: What the Brontes Taught Me About Life, Love, and Women’s Work, was published by Hachette Books in 2017, and they produced and directed the award-winning nonbinary rom-com Love Chicken, which premiered at the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
