DESCRIPTION:We expanded our youth initiatives to include the YOUTH MEDIA TOUR. This is a career development component designed to encourage Native American youth to explore employment in the entertainment industry and seek higher education. \nThese professional visits include presentations from corporate staff that encourage the participating youth to pursue careers in film\, television and media. \nThis program entails Native American youth visiting movie studios\, television networks and film schools in Los Angeles\, California. Professionals from the film industry speak with the participants about job preparation\,and giving  tours around the studio lots. \nIf you would like to participate\, please e-mail: contact@laskinsfest.com

SUMMARY:Native Youth Media Tour
DESCRIPTION:On November 13th\, 2015\, the LA SKINS FEST conducted its annual studio and network tour for Native Youth. \nIn the morning\, youth and tribal councilmen from the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay went on a walking tour of the historic Culver Studios\, visited sound stages\, and walked on the set of the LAST SHIP (TNT/Michael Bay). \nIn the afternoon\, Youth from Sherman Indian High School went on a tour of SONY STUDIOS. They went on the set of Tyra Banks’ new show\, the Jeopardy stage and learned about the history of film and television.
