DESCRIPTION:     The 5th Annual Native American Writers Seminar has announced five selected fellows for this year’s program. \n     “The 5th Annual Native American Writers Seminar continues its mission to elevate and empower Indigenous storytellers.” Announced Ian Skorodin\, director of strategy for the Native American Media Alliance. We proudly welcome this exceptional cohort of fellows\, who are poised to bring rich and authentic narratives to the forefront.” \n      The Native American Writers Seminar is a two month intensive that supports emerging writers who are new to the film and television industry. This initiative provides access for Native Americans to advance their career and develop their writing sample. All participants chosen for the seminar will workshop an existing script with accomplished and seasoned writers from motion picture projects and television series. The program provides intensive development workshops and is accompanied by rigorous writing sessions. \n     In addition\, the seminar provides representatives from prestigious fellowships and past participants of Native American Media Alliance writing programs. SUMMARY:Native American Writers Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Due to the incredible success of our year round writers programs\, we are partnering with WarnerMedia and the Cherokee Nation Film Office to host the Native American Writers Seminar. This is a new intensive that provides mentoring support for new and developing writers. The Native American Writers Seminar is a month-long workshop that focuses on the development of an existing script and provides preparation for submission to writing fellowships. The workshop offers new tools for Native American writers to better compete as a creative and prepares them for professional opportunities. Instructors\, speakers\, and mentors in the workshop offer insight into creative development\, personal branding and discuss the writing landscape from their experienced perspective. \n \nThe purpose of the seminar is to further empower Native Americans to develop their writing craft and provide insight into the film and television industry. This seminar will also help them prepare a developed writing sample that can bolster their fellowship opportunities. \n\n___________________________________________________________________________ \nAbout the Program\nThe month-long curriculum hosts daily discussions with experienced writers\, supportive instructors\, and representatives of prestigious writing programs. These discussions provide additional insight into artistic development\, applying for fellowships\, and exploring professional opportunities. \nThe month-long workshop culminates with a one on one meeting with a creative executive or experienced television writer. This final conversation has the mentor provide guidance on career path and next steps. Each seminar participant will have the opportunity to discuss creative development\, enhance their respective materials and improve their writing sample.
