SUMMARY:Remember the Removal
DESCRIPTION:Generations after their ancestors were marched through Missouri on the Trail of Tears\, Cherokee\, Mvskoke\, and Pawnee storytellers discover a small rural town in the Missouri Ozarks determined to honor them — and weigh what that respect means. A Cherokee Nation rider retraces the route her ancestors were forced to walk through Steelville\, Missouri\, and a Cherokee/Pawnee artist casts their memory in bronze. While the Trail of Tears remains a painful and devastating part of history\, it is also a story of survival\, perseverance\, and renewal.
