DESCRIPTION:NATIVE AMERICAN TV WRITERS LAB CONCLUDES 4TH YEAR! \nThe LA Skins Fest wrapped the 4th Annual Native American TV Writers Lab. The five week program hosted seven Native American writers. Each participant developed and wrote their own original television pilot. In addition\, the lab fellows met with creative executives from TBS\, NBC\, HBO\, Bad Robot\, Nickelodeon and Kung Fu Monkey Productions. They also met with literary managers from Echolake Entertainment. \n \nThe 4th Annual Native American TV Lab is supported by Comcast NBCUniversal\, The Walt Disney Company\, HBO\, WarnerMedia and Kung Fu Monkey Productions. \nThe 7 participants: \nCara Jade Myers (Kiowa/Wichita) \nJohn Timothy (Muscogee Creek) \nShelley Dennis (Choctaw) \nWilliam Paul Smith (Eastern Shoshone) \nMicah Wright (Muscogee Creek) \nCarolina Hoyos (Quechua Inka) \nRobert Vestal (Cherokee) \nThe five week total immersion lab was mentored and guided by Bryan Davidson (Creative Executive/Skydance Media). \nThe NATIVE AMERICAN TV WRITERS LAB was created to expand the amount of Native Americans working behind the camera\, as a way to increase fair and accurate portrayals of Native Americans on television.
