DESCRIPTION:Kim Marcus\, Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla/Serrano gives viewers a look into the history of Cahuilla pictographs while demonstrating the actual process of creating iron oxide paints and applying them to rocks with students of Noli Indian High School. We are taken on a journey to the San Jacinto Mountains to witness first hand a hidden gem of a 1\,500+ year old pictograph left by Cahuilla ancestors on a giant rock formation and how it is connected to ancient stories\, while students of today reflect on the importance of knowing history\, language\, and traditional culture.
