SUMMARY:CURRENT: LA Water Program
DESCRIPTION:The Native Youth Multimedia Workshop has partnered with the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) of Los Angeles CURRENT: LA WATER PROGRAM. \nThis program teaches youth to write\, direct\, shoot and edit their own movies that will focus on the LA River environment! \nProgram Description \nThe Native Current: Multimedia Workshop is a filmmaking program designed to teach acting\, writing\, directing\, camera operation\, and video editing. In the workshop\, participants will learn basic technical skills and gain hands-on experience by producing short documentaries\, narratives and Public Service Announcements (PSA) about the LA River. \nSchedule: The workshop will be held every Sunday starting July 17 – August 14\, 2016. We will be meeting for 3 hours each day at the Griffen Park Water Fountain in Los Feliz\, CA. Film projects produced in this program will be screened August 14\, 2016\, 8:30-10pm. \nSchedule and time is as follows: \n(Week 1) Sunday\, July 17\, 2016\, 12-3pm \n(Week 2) Sunday\, July 24\, 2016\, 12-3pm \n(Week 3) Sunday\, July 31\, 2016\, 12-3pm \n(Week 4) Sunday\, August 7\, 2016\, 12-3pm \n(Week 5) Sunday\, August 14\, 2016\, 8:30-10pm (screening) \nWorkshop Location\, Location Directions\, and Parking Information: \nLocation: \nCURRENT: LA HUB\n3306 Riverside Drive\, Los Angeles\, CA 90027 \nParking information: \nhttp://www.currentla.org/sites/the-hub/ \nAge restrictions: \nThe program is free and open to youth ages 9-17 years old. \nOur History: \nEvery year since 2009\, the NATIVE YOUTH MULTI-MEDIA WORKSHOP has travelled to reservations throughout North America and Indigenous communities throughout the world to teach youth multimedia skills. The youth films from our workshops are shown at the LA SKINS FEST –this is a premier film festival for Native Americans in Los Angeles.
