NATIVE YOUTH MEDIA WEEKEND

The LA SKINS FEST has expanded the Native youth program. During the festival, we will be adding more weekend activities for our Native youth festival attendees.
Check out some of the activities we are offering this year!
Friday November 17th – NATIVE YOUTH MEDIA TOUR
Participating Native youth will be invited to tour a Hollywood studio. Native youth participants will learn about film and television history, walk on sets, sound stages and meet with studio personnel. The purpose of tour is to inspired the next generation to explore film and television as a viable career and educational option. The ages will be primarily Middle School/High School kids.
Saturday November 18th – NATIVE YOUTH MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP
During the festival, we will offer a one day NATIVE YOUTH MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP. The workshop is focused on filmmaking and instructs the youth participants in camera operation, directing, editing, and music composition. We will discuss drama techniques, proper auditioning, and the business of acting. Youth will be encourage to produce a film together.
Sunday November 19th – NATIVE YOUTH FILM PROGRAM
The LA SKINS FEST will be hosting the NATIVE YOUTH FILM PROGRAM. We will screen films produced by Native youth from our summer multimedia workshop and other films produced by Native youth. The Native youth filmmakers will present their work and participate in a Q&A with the audience.
